Hydrogen and Hydrocracker Unit Commissioning, Training, and Operation at Abadan Refinery
Phase 2 of the Abadan Refinery Capacity Stabilization and Development Project has been implemented to increase and stabilize the refinery’s crude oil processing capacity at 360,000 barrels per day through the construction of a new refining complex with a capacity of 210,000 barrels per day. Among the most important units of this phase are the Hydrocracker Unit and the Hydrogen Production Unit.
The Hydrocracker Unit, which is the largest catalytic cracking unit in the Middle East and West Asia with a capacity of 42,000 barrels per day, was commissioned by Ideh Tadbir Maham, and the operation of the unit is currently being carried out by the company’s expert workforce. With the commissioning of this unit, 42,000 barrels of fuel oil production at the Abadan Refinery is reduced and converted into valuable products such as LPG, sweet heavy and light naphtha, jet fuel, and Euro-5 diesel, thereby adding both value and product diversity to the refinery’s portfolio.
The commissioning and operation of this unit have also been successfully carried out by Ideh Tadbir Maham.
